MEGAN COURT

We began this remodel with the challenge of merging a husband and wife’s distinct design tastes. While her ideal kitchen would have been bright and modern, he preferred a moodier vibe. What we created was a perfect marriage between their two unique visions.

After removing exterior walls to open and expand the ranch-style kitchen, we anchored the heart of the home around a giant deep-sea blue island. Custom legs create ample island gathering space for these hosts, while matte black pendant lights add the perfect touch of drama.

But my favorite design detail was the choice to use different stones on the perimeter countertops and the island. It’s a gentle nod to the way two distinct styles can live harmoniously, side by side.
